Spread all over the island there are opportunities for day trips: to the countryside, out to the sea, into the warm waters of a natural hot spring, to the ice of a glacier, down into a lava cave, a flight by helicopter, to name just a few. Blue Lagoon from Reykjavik

Take a bath in the milky blue waters of the famous Blue Lagoon! Known not only for its spectacular setting among fields of frozen lava but also for its mineral rich waters.

The Golden Circle

Don't leave Iceland without having seen Iceland's "Big Three": Gullfoss, the Golden Waterfall, the famous Geysir and Thingvellir, the place of the ancient parlament and also a place of high geological interest.

Glacier Walk

Venture out onto the frozen beauty of a tongue of the mighty Vatnajökull glacier, explore crevasses and ice sculptures in all shapes and sizes while enjoying the magnificent view on the landscape of surrounding glaciers and mountains.

Whales are the true kings of the oceans. Watching them in their element is an awe-inspiring experience. Minke and humpback whales are the most frequently sighted species as well as porpoises and the playful dolphins.

Go for the whales in Húsavík, Iceland's whale watching capital! Chances to spot the great humpback, minke whales or the playful dolphins are sky high. If you happen to not see a whale on your tour join another one for free.

The highlands of Iceland's interior are one of the roughest places in the country and one of its most beautiful. Colourful rhyolite mountains in all shapes and sizes and the harsh, barren landscape remind of another planet.

Mammut Travel EHF (ID number 681111-2040) is a tour operator and travel agency based in Iceland, authorized by the Icelandic Tourist Board.

It offers its products through the web www.mammuticeland.com, this includes package trips, excursions and links to other web sites providing tourist services.

Using this website and its services, purchasing a product or sending an inquiry implies the acceptance of our terms & conditions.

Bookings have to be directed to info@mammuticeland.com. After a booking is confirmed travellers will receive all necessary travel information by email including tickets, vouchers or any other travel documents for the trip or excursion in question.

The traveller is responsible for checking the received documents and confirming that all information is correct. Errors in the documents have to be reported back to us as soon as possible. In case changes have to be made at a later point Mammut Travel reserves itself the right to charge a discretionary service fee.

PAYMENTS

A deposit is necessary to confirm a reservation. Upon reservation we will inform you about the exact amount and payment details. Failure to meet payment deadlines will lead to the cancellation of the purchased service and cancellation conditions apply.

For escorted tours, a 40% deposit of the total price is required to confirm a booking. The remaining 60% are due two to one months before trip start, depending on the type of the trip. Contact us for detailed information.

Product prices on the website are based on the current price situation in Iceland. Mammut Travel reserves itself the right to change prices due to unforeseen considerable cost increases or fluctuations in currency exchange rates. After a booking has been confirmed a price increase will never exceed 6% of the total trip price, though. The costumer has in this case the right to cancel the reservation without cancellation fees.

CANCELLATION

All cancellations must be made in written form by email to info@mammuticeland.com or to the direct email of your personal contact at Mammut Travel. Notice that our office is open from Monday to Friday from 10 to 17 h, Icelandic time (GMT). A cancellation is confirmed as soon as Mammut Travel replies to the cancellation (within the just mentioned working hours) informing the traveller about the cancellation charges. Cancellation conditions are as follows:

more than 60 days before the trip start: no charges
between 59 and 30 days before the trip start: 50% of the total price
between 29 and 15 days before the trip start: 25% of the total price
less than 14 days before the start date: 100% of the total price

Notice that for some trips different conditions apply. In in this case we will inform the traveller before confirming the trip.

A non-refundable 80 € per person will be charged to all the bookings.

When cancelling a trip, it must be taken into account that there are certain expenses of the agency for payments to suppliers that in most cases may be non-refundable, such as payments for certain accommodations, excursions or airline tickets already issued.

Notice that for some trips different conditions apply. In in this case we will inform the traveller before confirming the trip.

INSURANCE

Mammut Travel recommends to purchase a travel insurance before travelling. Note that no insurance is included in our trip packages. Will be happy to assist you if you have questions.

PASSPORT AND PERSONAL DOCUMENTS

It is the traveller's own responsibility to have all required legal documents for entering Iceland or Greenland. For some countries special visa regulations apply. Please check the regulations for your country before contracting a trip with us. You will find information on Icelandic regulations on: http://www.utl.is/

The scientific world has considered the Mammut extinct for ages. But also scientists can err. One little red Mammut survived, dormant, through the ages and rose to life again 2011 in Iceland. It had the luck to be born sure footed, in his back the combined expertise of a group of people with long years of experience in tourism in Iceland, Greenland and other parts of Scandinavia.

We who are working for Mammut Travel have different backgrounds and come from different countries but have all at some point fallen in love with the rough beauty of the North, a love that not only holds ourselves captive but makes us want to show this beauty to the world – to you!

By foot, by car, slowly, adventurous, in a basic way or with a little comfort, in just a few days or for several weeks - there are many ways of exploring a country. We ourselves have experienced Iceland and Greenland in many ways. With the variety of tours we offer we try to meet the needs of different travellers and at the same time want to show you the countries in its many facets. For sure it is difficult to meet the needs of everybody, maybe even impossible. But we are willing to try.
